Skaftafell

Skaftafell, nestled in the southern part of Vatnajökull National Park, spans over 2,000 square miles (5,000 square kilometers) of rugged mountainous terrain and glacial tongues. Dominated by the Skaftafellsjökull glacier, this area is a prime example of Iceland’s wild and untamed landscape. With no roads within the park, visitors explore the region through hiking, glacier hiking, and ice climbing, immersing themselves in the raw beauty of the Icelandic wilderness.
