Since 1819, the Pont de Pierre has spanned the Garonne River, connecting the left and right banks of Bordeaux. Constructed despite the river’s powerful current, it required the labor of over 4,000 workers to complete. For nearly 150 years, this bridge was the sole link between the two sides of the city. Today, visitors can walk or drive across its sturdy stone arches, experiencing a piece of Bordeaux’s rich history and enjoying views of the flowing river below.
