Comana Monastery (Manastirea Comana)

Comana Monastery, originally built in 1461 by Vlad the Impaler, the historical figure who inspired Bram Stoker’s Dracula, stands in Romania. While the current structure is a complete reconstruction, the necropolis dates back to the 15th century and is believed to be the burial place of Vlad himself. Visitors can explore the monastery’s grounds, which offer a tangible connection to the region’s rich and storied past, blending history and legend in a serene setting.
