Just north of the border that divides Nicosia, the Buyuk Han stands as one of the city’s best-preserved historical landmarks. Originally an Ottoman caravanserai, this former inn features a central courtyard surrounded by rooms that now house cafés and shops. Despite its modern use, the structure retains much of its original character, including a Muslim prayer room and an ablution fountain at its heart. Visitors can explore the historic layout, enjoy a meal, or browse through the various shops, all while experiencing a piece of Nicosia’s rich past.
