Tucked away next to the Roman Forum, the Basilica di Santa Francesca Romana is dedicated to Saint Frances of Rome, the 15th-century patron saint of drivers, often depicted with an angel lighting her way at night. The church houses the relics of the saint in its crypt. Visitors can admire the richly detailed coffered ceilings and the mosaics that adorn the altar. A rare 5th-century icon of the Virgin Mary is also on display, adding to the historical and artistic significance of this serene space.
