Horca del Inca

Overlooking the town of Copacabana from the south, Horca del Inca is a hilltop archaeological site that predates Incan settlement, despite its name, which translates to ‘Gallows of the Inca.’ This ancient observatory, perched on a rocky hillside, once served to chart the winter solstice. Today, only a few stone pillars remain, standing as silent witnesses to its historical significance. Visitors can climb up to the site to explore these remnants and enjoy panoramic views of the town below, offering both a glimpse into the past and a rewarding vantage point.
