Lihue, Kauai’s capital city, serves as the gateway to the island’s adventures, situated on the eastern coastline. Home to the main cruise port and the only commercial airport, Lihue is also a bustling shopping hub. The city’s historic spots, including the Kilohana Plantation and the Kauai Museum, offer a glimpse into the island’s past. Just north of Lihue, Kalapaki Beach invites visitors with its sandy shores, making it one of the island’s top sunbathing destinations.
