Iglesia de Santo Domingo

Nestled in the historic center of Guatemala City, the 18th-century neoclassical Iglesia de Santo Domingo gained prominence after the dedication of the Virgen del Rosario in 1933. Pilgrims and visitors alike come to see the venerated image, along with celebrated sculptures such as El Senor Sepultado and Jesus de la Buena Muerte. The church’s interior is adorned with a splendid gold stuccoed altar, one of the best-preserved in the country, offering a glimpse into the rich religious heritage and craftsmanship of the region.
