Gocta Waterfalls (Catarata de Gocta)

In the upper Amazon basin, nestled within the Chachapoyas region, the Gocta Waterfalls (Catarata de Gocta) cascade from a height of 2,529 feet (771 meters). This two-tiered wonder was known only to locals until 2002 when a German explorer brought it to the world’s attention. The falls are accessible via hiking or horseback riding, allowing visitors to experience the thunderous roar and misty spray up close. Surrounded by lush, verdant forest, the journey to the falls offers a scenic and immersive adventure in Peru’s natural beauty.
