Huaca Huallamarca (Pan de Azucar)

The pre-Columbian adobe Huaca Huallamarca pyramid, also known as Pan de Azucar (Sugar Loaf), stands as a striking contrast to the modern high-rises of Lima’s San Isidro district. Built by the Lima Culture between 200 and 500 CE, this earthen structure served as a burial temple. Visitors can explore the site and observe the rounded form that once resembled the farmlands covering the ruins. Today, the pyramid offers a glimpse into the ancient past, allowing guests to walk through its historical grounds and learn about the rituals and customs of the people who constructed it.
