Established in 1932, Maputo Special Reserve, located in Mozambique near the capital city of Maputo, has seen a remarkable transformation. Once depleted of much of its wildlife by the end of Mozambique’s civil war, the reserve has since 2010 experienced a resurgence. Thousands of animals have returned, making it a vibrant biodiversity hotspot. Today, visitors can explore the diverse landscapes and observe an ever-increasing variety of wildlife, from large mammals to numerous bird species, all thriving in their natural habitat.
