Casa de Montejo, one of Mérida’s oldest buildings, was originally constructed in the 16th century. Today, it functions as a bank and a free-to-enter museum. The structure’s most striking feature is its original and elaborate Spanish Plateresque-style façade, a rare architectural gem in the Americas. Inside, visitors can explore a four-room collection of historic furniture and three exhibition halls that often display artworks. The detailed stonework and ornate design of the façade provide a vivid glimpse into the colonial era, making it a significant historical and cultural landmark.
