Yamdrok Lake (Yamdrok-tso)

Yamdrok Lake, known also as Yamdrok-tso or Yamdrok Yumtso, is a sacred site in Tibetan tradition and one of the three largest lakes in China. Nestled among dry, snow-capped peaks, the lake’s bright turquoise waters create a striking contrast with the surrounding landscape. Most visitors catch their first glimpse of this high-altitude wonder after crossing the Khamba La Pass, which stands at an elevation of 15,731 feet (4,795 meters). The vivid colors and dramatic setting make it a memorable stop for those exploring the region.
