The Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History, one of the oldest and largest of its kind, has stood in New Haven since 1925. Inside, visitors can explore an extensive collection of dinosaurs, alongside permanent exhibits that delve into human evolution, Egyptian history, and Native American artwork. The museum also features a wide array of birds and mammals, as well as life-size dioramas and Mayan exhibits. Connected to the main building are several labs and learning stations, offering hands-on experiences, especially appealing for families with children. Note that the museum is currently closed for renovations, with plans to reopen in 2023.
