Constructed in 1967, Xingtian Temple is a prominent religious site in Taipei, dedicated to Guan Yu, a deified general and patron god of businesspeople. The temple’s forward-thinking approach is evident in its environmental initiatives; it became the first in Taiwan to ban incense in 2014. Daily, around 10,000 believers visit the temple, seeking spiritual guidance and participating in the vibrant, smoke-free atmosphere. The temple’s commitment to both tradition and modernity offers visitors a unique and thoughtful experience.
