Opened in 1913, the Wiener Konzerthaus stands as a testament to Art Nouveau architecture and musical innovation in Vienna. After World War II, it played a pivotal role in rejuvenating Austria’s musical landscape, becoming a hub for contemporary music and international jazz. The original building housed three concert halls, each capable of hosting simultaneous performances, and featured a historic organ installed in 1913. A comprehensive renovation from 1998 to 2001 added a fourth hall, enhancing its modernity. Today, the four halls, with capacities ranging from 336 to over 1,800, host more than 700 events annually from September to June. The venue also hosts several festivals, including the Early Music Festival Resonanzen in January and the Wien Modern in the fall.
