The Weeping Tower, or Schreierstoren, is a 15th-century structure with a squat, robust base and a small, pointed spire, nestled along the canals in the heart of Amsterdam. Legend has it that the tower earned its name from the women who would gather to bid tearful farewells to their sailor husbands and lovers as they set off on their voyages. Today, visitors can enjoy the tower’s charming views of the canal while sipping a drink at the café housed within.
