Wat Samrong Knong

Wat Samrong Knong, a Buddhist monastery with a history spanning over 300 years, is located in Battambang, Cambodia. The site is marked by its tragic past as one of the Khmer Rouge’s killing fields, where more than 10,000 people lost their lives. The main pagoda is surrounded by shrines, stupas, memorials, and ancient ruins. A glazed tower stands out, containing bones, skulls, and stark reliefs depicting scenes of torture, serving as a somber reminder of the atrocities that occurred here. Today, visitors can explore these structures and reflect on the historical significance of the site.
