Wat Chedi Luang

Wat Chedi Luang, a partially ruined temple in Chiang Mai, Thailand, dates back to 1441 and stands as one of the largest structures from ancient Chiang Mai. Originally, it was renowned for housing the Emerald Buddha, now located in Bangkok’s Wat Phra Kaew. Today, visitors can see a jade replica of the Emerald Buddha in the eastern niche of the temple. The site offers a glimpse into the rich history and architectural grandeur of the Lanna Kingdom, with its imposing chedi and intricate stonework inviting exploration.
