Waihee Ridge Trail

Waihee Ridge Trail, also known as Mauna Kahalawai, is a 5-mile (8-kilometer) hiking loop that winds through the West Maui Mountains. The trail ascends 1,500 feet (460 meters) through a lush forest filled with guava, ohai, and candlenut (kukui) trees, the latter being Hawaii’s state tree. Hikers are rewarded with views of cascading waterfalls and dramatic vistas from vantage points high among the clouds. This scenic trek offers a blend of natural beauty and physical challenge, making it a favorite for those exploring Maui’s outdoors.
