Villa Farnesina

Villa Farnesina

Villa Farnesina, a lush retreat in Rome, was commissioned by Agostino Chigi, a wealthy 16th-century banker. The villa’s walls and ceilings are adorned with frescoes by Renaissance masters such as Raphael, Baldassare Peruzzi, and Sebastiano del Piombo. The Hall of Perspectives features trompe-l’oeil paintings, while the Loggia of Galatea is inspired by mythology. After admiring the artwork, visitors can stroll through the manicured gardens, offering a tranquil escape from the bustling city.
