Varanasi Ghats (Banaras Ghats)

The Varanasi Ghats, also known as Banaras Ghats, are a series of steps that lead from the city down to the sacred waters of the Ganges River. With nearly 100 individual ghats lining the river’s edge, these steep staircases provide access to the river throughout the year, whether during the wet or dry seasons. Visitors can observe the daily rituals and activities that take place along the ghats, where the spiritual and the mundane intertwine in a unique blend of tradition and everyday life.
