Torba Monastery (Monastero di Torba)

Originally constructed in the fifth century as part of a Roman military complex, the Torba Monastery was later transformed into a Benedictine convent. Located in Italy, this site is now part of a UNESCO-listed collection of buildings associated with the early medieval Lombard kingdom. The monastery’s interior boasts rare Byzantinesque frescoes, believed to date back to the eighth or ninth century, offering visitors a glimpse into the artistic and cultural heritage of the period. Today, guests can explore the well-preserved structures and admire the intricate details of these ancient murals.
