Tongli Water Town

Tongli Water Town, a picturesque village southeast of Suzhou, is one of several ancient water towns in the Yangtze River Delta. Established during the Song Dynasty, the town is divided into multiple islets by more than a dozen rivers and waterways, connected by 49 stone bridges. This layout has earned it the nickname ‘Venice of the Orient.’ Visitors can explore its UNESCO-listed Tuisi Garden, among other tranquil gardens, and wander through the narrow, winding streets that offer a glimpse into the town’s rich historical and cultural heritage.
