Tidal Basin

Nestled in West Potomac Park, the Tidal Basin is a man-made inlet surrounded by some of Washington DC’s most iconic memorials and monuments, such as the Jefferson Memorial, the FDR Memorial, and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial. This picturesque body of water is also home to thousands of cherry trees, a gift from Japan, which create a stunning display of pink and white blossoms each spring. Visitors can stroll along the basin’s edge, enjoying the serene waters and the historical significance of the surrounding landmarks.
