The Slav Epic (Slovanská Epopej) is a series of 20 large paintings by Czech artist Alfons Mucha, created between 1910 and 1928 to celebrate Slavic culture and history. Each canvas captures significant events such as battles, coronations, and the abolition of serfdom, with Mucha visiting many depicted locations and consulting historians for accuracy. In 1928, Mucha gifted the collection to Prague, but the paintings were hidden during World War II to avoid Nazi seizure. After a period in Moravsky Krumlov from 1963, the collection returned to Prague in 2012, displayed at the Veletržní Palace until 2016. Currently, the paintings are not on display as they await a new location in Prague.
