The Tasman Bridge, a prominent feature of the Hobart skyline, stretches nearly a mile (1.4 kilometers) from the north end of the Central Business District to the suburbs. This massive structure gained international attention in 1975 due to the Tasman Bridge Disaster, when a bulk carrier collided with it and sank. Today, visitors can walk or drive across the bridge, taking in the expansive views of the Derwent River and the city’s picturesque surroundings.
