Strada Maggiore

Strada Maggiore, part of an ancient Roman road, connects Bologna’s eastern city gate to the medieval Two Towers. This historic street is lined with the city’s signature porticoes, covered walkways that offer shelter and guide visitors to antique shops, restaurants, and other attractions. Notable among these is Casa Isolani, featuring an oak portico from the 1200s, one of the oldest in Europe.
