The SS Yongala, a ship that sank off Cape Bowling Green near Townsville in March 1911 during a cyclone, now rests at depths of 49 to 82 feet (15 to 29 meters). Tragically, all 122 people on board perished. Today, the site is renowned for its vibrant and diverse marine life, making it one of the world’s premier diving destinations.
