The Southern Theatre, one of Ohio’s oldest surviving theaters, opened in 1896 and continues to captivate with its ornate interiors and exceptional acoustics. Located in Columbus, the theater underwent a complete renovation in 1998, preserving its gilded proscenium arches, side boxes, and three tiers of seating. Today, it serves as the home for Opera Columbus, the Columbus Jazz Orchestra, Chamber Music Columbus, and the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra. Visitors can appreciate the meticulously restored architectural details while enjoying a diverse array of performances.
