Somoto Canyon

Carved by the powerful Rio Coco, Central America’s longest river, Somoto Canyon National Monument is a deep and narrow gorge located in northern Nicaragua. Spanning 420 acres (170 hectares), the protected area encompasses a 2-mile (3.2-kilometer) stretch of canyon, offering visitors a blend of thrilling excursions and scenic views.
