Sheldon Jackson Museum

Located on the campus of the former Sheldon Jackson College in downtown Sitka, the Sheldon Jackson Museum is one of Alaska’s oldest museums, dedicated to the state’s rich cultural history. The museum houses an extensive collection of Native artifacts, offering a window into the lives of Aleut and Alutiiq, Athabascan, Inupiat and Yup’ik, and Northwest Coast peoples. Among the highlights are a full-size Tlingit dugout canoe and intricate argillite carvings. Visitors can explore these and other exhibits, gaining a deeper understanding of the region’s diverse indigenous heritage.
