The Shanghai History Museum, known locally as Shanghai Lishi Bowuguan, reopened in 2018 after an extensive renovation. Located on the former grounds of the Shanghai Race Club in People’s Square, the museum houses over 1,100 artifacts that trace the city’s history across 6,000 years.
