The Serpent Column, also known as the Delphi Tripod (Yilani Sütun), stands at the center of Sultanahmet Square in Istanbul, where the Hippodrome of Constantinople once thrived. This 2,500-year-old bronze work was originally part of a sacrificial tripod. The Romans relocated it to its current site to enhance the grandeur of the horse racing stadium. Today, visitors can observe the intricate craftsmanship and historical significance of this ancient relic, which offers a tangible link to the city’s rich past.
