Salzburg Old Market (Alter Markt)

Salzburg’s Alter Markt, or Old Market Square, has been a central feature of the city since the 13th century. Once a bustling hub for town dances, midsummer festivals, and civic events, the square now offers a glimpse into Salzburg’s rich history. One of its curiosities is Number 10, the smallest house in Salzburg, measuring just 4.6 feet (1.4 meters) wide. Visitors can explore the area and join a guided foodie tour to sample some of the local produce that would have been sold at the market in the past.
