The Roman Catholic Saints Peter and Paul Church, established in 1924, stands prominently in San Francisco’s North Beach district, also known as Little Italy. Its cathedral-like façade and towering twin spires overlook the north side of Washington Square Park. Inside, the church continues to hold daily mass, maintaining its role as a spiritual center for the community. While it remains an active place of worship, the church is perhaps most recognized for its iconic photo opportunity: Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe posed here after their wedding, making it a popular spot for both locals and visitors.
