Established on old Acadian land in the heart of the Annapolis Valley, Sainte-Famille Wines opened for business in 1980 under the ownership of Doug and Suzanne Corkum. The winery overlooks the rolling hills surrounding the Avon River Valley and is situated in a unique, warm microclimate, making it the warmest vineyard site in Nova Scotia. From its humble beginnings with just one acre, the vineyard now spans 25 acres, cultivating eight varieties of white grapes and four varieties of red, with 95% of their production coming from their own grapes. Visitors can sample a wide range of lesser-known varieties such as Marechal Foch, Acadie Blanc, Seyval, and Lèon Millot, alongside classic favorites like Chardonnay and Riesling. The winery also produces blueberry ice wine and maple wine, adding to its diverse offerings. Over the years, Sainte-Famille Wines has garnered several Atlantic Canadian Wine Awards and a Gold Medal at the International Eastern Wine Competition in New York.
