Designed by Henry Irwin, the architect also responsible for the Gaiety Theatre and Mysore Palace, Rashtrapati Niwas, commonly known as Viceregal Lodge, served as the summer residence of British viceroys. Nestled in Shimla, this Jacobethan-style building features a blend of Tudor and Elizabethan architectural elements. Today, it houses the Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS), offering visitors a glimpse into its rich history and the opportunity to explore its grand interiors and lush surroundings.
