Puketi Forest, sprawling across 51,000 acres west of Kerikeri in the Bay of Islands, is one of New Zealand’s remaining kauri rain forests. Elevated boardwalks wind through the forest, allowing visitors to get close to these towering native trees. The forest is home to more than 360 indigenous plant species, which can be discovered on longer walks. Today, visitors can explore this lush, diverse ecosystem and experience the unique textures and colors of the kauri and other native flora.
