The Puente Nuevo, a major feat of 18th-century engineering, spans the El Tajo Gorge, uniting Ronda’s old and new towns. Designed by Spanish architect José Martín de Aldehuela, the bridge was constructed between 1759 and 1793. Rising 390 feet (120 meters) above the craggy bed of the Guadalevín River, the bridge offers visitors a dramatic view of the sheer limestone cliffs. Today, visitors can walk across the bridge, taking in the breathtaking landscape and the intricate stonework that has made it an iconic symbol of Ronda.
