Pómac Forest Historic Sanctuary

The Pómac Forest Historic Sanctuary, located in Chiclayo, Peru, is a sprawling 23-square-mile expanse of dryland forest that houses 36 pyramids built by the Sicán people. These ancient structures, with their heavily eroded peaks emerging above the treetops, have been the site of some of northern Peru’s most significant archaeological discoveries.
