Piazza della Bocca della Verità

Nestled between the Tiber River and Circus Maximus in central Rome, Piazza della Bocca della Verità is a square that draws visitors with its historical and cinematic allure. The piazza’s most famous feature, the Bocca della Verità, is an ancient marble mask, made iconic by the 1953 film Roman Holiday. This massive sculpture, now a popular photo spot, is housed under the portico of the Basilica of Santa Maria in Cosmedin. While the Mouth of Truth is the main draw, the piazza offers other attractions, inviting visitors to explore more of its surroundings.
