Piazza del Campidoglio

Piazza del Campidoglio, the first modern civic square in Rome, was designed by Michelangelo in 1536. Situated at the top of the Capitoline Hill, it offers a commanding view over the Roman Forum. The square is approached via the grand Cordonata staircase and is framed by three Renaissance palaces, which now house the Capitoline Museums. Visitors can explore the historical and artistic treasures within these palaces, immersing themselves in the rich cultural heritage of Rome.
