The Pensacola Lighthouse and Maritime Museum, located at NAS Pensacola, combines rich history with modern maritime significance. The lighthouse, erected in 1859, stands as an active U.S. Coast Guard navigation aid, guiding ships with its steady beam. Adjacent to the lighthouse, the Keeper’s Quarters, built in 1869, now serves as the Richard C. Callaway Museum, which was converted into a maritime museum in 1995. Visitors can explore the museum’s exhibits, climb the 177 steps to the top of the lighthouse for panoramic views, and watch the U.S. Navy Blue Angels practicing their aerial maneuvers nearby.
