For over a century, the Victoria Peak Tram has been a distinctive feature of Hong Kong Island, ascending the steep slopes of Victoria Peak. Originally a coal-fired tramway in 1888, it transitioned to electric power in 1926. Today, this funicular railway carries around 7 million passengers annually, drawn by the promise of panoramic views. At the summit, visitors can explore the ultramodern Peak Tower, which houses restaurants and the Sky Terrace 428 viewing platform, or venture into nature trails and the serene Victoria Peak Garden.
