Old Fadama, also known as Agbogbloshie, spans about 4 acres of wetlands just beyond the city limits of Accra. This area is one of West Africa’s largest slums, home to approximately 40,000 Ghanaians living in extreme poverty. Despite the challenging conditions, the community thrives on ingenuity and creativity. Residents repurpose discarded machinery, appliances, and old computers, turning waste into a means of survival. Visitors can observe the resourcefulness and resilience of this community, which is actively working to improve their neighborhood through innovative solutions.
