Mykonos Windmills (Kato Mili)

The Mykonos Windmills, known as Kato Mili, stand as a quintessential sight on the Greek island of Mykonos. Built in the 16th century, these whitewashed, three-story conical structures were originally used for milling flour. Capped with wood and straw, they line a hill overlooking Mykonos Town, providing a picturesque view of the Chora Mykonos harbor. Out of the 16 preserved windmills on the island, seven are found in this area, creating a striking visual against the blue Aegean Sea. Today, visitors can admire their architectural simplicity and enjoy the panoramic views from the hill.
