Milk Grotto

Just a short stroll from Manger Square, the Milk Grotto is a historical church in Bethlehem. According to Christian tradition, this site provided refuge for the Holy Family during the Massacre of the Innocents, where the Virgin Mary nursed the infant Jesus. Legend tells that a drop of her milk fell to the ground, turning the grotto’s stone white, which gives the site its name. Today, visitors can explore the grotto and see the pale, chalky rock, immersing themselves in a place of deep spiritual significance.
