Michael’s Gate (Michalska Brana)

Michael’s Gate, or Michalska Brana, stands as the sole surviving medieval gate in Bratislava, originally constructed in the 14th century. The tower underwent a significant reconstruction in the 18th century, during which it was adorned with a striking statue of the archangel Saint Michael, depicted triumphantly slaying a dragon. Today, visitors can explore the tower, which now houses the Museum of Arms, a part of the larger Bratislava City Museum, offering a glimpse into the city’s rich historical and military past.
