Miaoying Temple, also known as the White Stupa Temple or White Dagoba Temple, stands in Beijing’s Xicheng District, where a striking white dagoba rises 167 feet (51 meters) above the surrounding hutongs. The temple’s current structure dates back to the Ming Dynasty, but the stupa itself, towering and serene, was constructed in the late 1200s. As the oldest and tallest of its kind in China, it offers visitors a glimpse into the architectural and cultural heritage of the region. Today, visitors can explore the temple grounds and admire the intricate details of the stupa, set against the backdrop of the bustling city.
